Artist Statement

Biography

Johannes Schumacher (b. 1967) lives and works in Fribourg, Switzerland, where he teaches visual and fine arts. For more than 10 years, he has shown his work in Swiss galleries and recently in London and Paris. His paintings are present in private and public collections in Switzerland and in private collections in the United States.

Johannes received formation in graphic design at the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva, pedagogical certification in Fine Arts at the University of Bern, a Master of Arts from the University of Zurich, and pedagogical certification to teach French and History from the University of Fribourg.
